A pallet is made of wood and is as such a natural product. That makes it very important to us to manufacture our products in a sustainable way.

The use of wood for the manufacture of pallets has several advantages compared to, for example, plastic pallets.

• Wood absorbes CO². An average pallet absorbes about 27kg of CO² from the atmosphere
• Pallets can be reused and are easily recyclable.
• When the pallet is no longer usable, it can be used as fuel.

Besides these general advantages of using wood, sustainability also a high priority at PKF in the purchasing and production process. Throughout these processes we are constantly looking for environmentally friendly solutions and improvements.

A few examples:

• When purchasing raw materials, we look at the origins of the wood.
• Use of waste wood for overall heating and heating of the drying facilities.
• Use of 'green' oil for lubricating the production
